Resisting The Pressure To Make Something Happen

Leadership Lesson: I don’t have to listen to this, devil.
Are you taking on too much pressure for things you CAN’T CONTROL?
Let’s face it – no leader is at their best when they feel unnecessary pressure to MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN.
Don’t Take Random Pressure From The Enemy
Anxious thoughts. Uneasy forebodings.
At times you’ll feel pressure out of NOWHERE.
If there is one secret tactic that our spiritual enemy is always trying to work into our lives, it is the depletion of our ENERGY through the dread of something imperfect ahead in our day, week, or year.
Do you ever wake up in the morning and just feel a low-level, vague, “You better go! You better DO something significant in the next 15 minutes, or you lose!”
-
What if it doesn’t work out?
-
What if they’re mad at me?
-
What if we can’t find the money?
-
What if no one is interested?
-
What if they all laugh at me?
-
What if I’m kidding myself?
What if SOMETHING is out there that will cause everything to FALL APART if I don’t do PERFECTLY today?
“All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil [by anxious thoughts and forebodings], but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of circumstances].” (Proverbs 15:15, AMP)
The enemy knows that pressure doesn’t really need to be LOGICAL to wear us out.
It just needs to be suggestible.
Here is the good news: You don’t have to listen to this.
Resisting these voices will go a long way toward the restoration of clearer thinking and a more rested heart.
PUSH. BACK.
There is no “What if” that can surprise the “I Am.”
Try confessing this out of your mouth:
-
“It is a lie that I have to fix everything today.”
-
“I’m right on time.”
-
“God will help me do everything I’m supposed to do, in His time and in His way.”
-
“I’m doing my best. Anything that doesn’t get done in my timing is okay with Jesus.”
-
“God fulfills His purpose for me.” (see Psalms 138:8)
-
“Jesus isn’t in a hurry.”
-
“God is making me who I need to be, and He will get me where I’m supposed to go.”
-
“Jesus has given me His peace (see John 14:27), and He wants me to walk in it.”
I DON’T HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS, DEVIL.
Now bring all of your anxious thoughts and forebodings to the Sovereign King of everything in prayer:
Jesus,
I worship You today that my times are in Your hands (Psalms 31:15). There is no “What if” that can surprise Your “I Am.” I lift each one of these “What if” to You now. Please neutralize all fear in my life, as You’ve called me to a life of confident courage (2 Timothy 1:7). I believe You will give me the grace to walk with You through any and everything that may be in store for me. I don’t need to know the future because You’re already there and You will be kind, loving, faithful, and miraculous then just like You are now. Help me to do what YOU want me to do today and leave the question marks in Your hands. Amen.

That is so true. It is so much better to let go and let the HolySpirit tell you what is important.
